The Armada Tuah is 193½ ft. LOA with a beam of 45¼ and a draft of 18 ft. This Anchor Handling Offshore Support Vessel was designed by Conan Wu & Associates Pte. Ltd. of Singapore and built by Nam Cheong Dockyard Sdn Bdh in Sarawak, Malaysia. The vessel is powered by twin 2400 HP diesel engine and has a free running speed of 13 knots. The Armada Tuah is owned by Bumi Armada Navigation Shn Bhd and is employed offshore of East Malaysia. Armada Tuah is constructed to ABS Classification.

The ship is fitted with two WAGNER LA2 4.5-35-CB1 twin independent rudder steering gears with electronic synchronization consisting of L100-650 cylinders, DARBS valves, Uniblock #2 solenoid control valves, Mini Tiller steering amplifiers, TS-2 full follow-up lever controllers and jog switches. The steering gear configuration allows each rudder to be operated independently via jog lever control. One 10 HP electric motor pumpset powers each steering gear but can be cross connected to operate both gears in the event one pumpset fails. A Model 202 rudder angle indicator system is fitted. In the event of an electrical failure a local control helm system has been provided.
